Current projects
  - Phytophthora resistance in Potato- The Dutch organic potato production is still heavily under pressure, mainly due to the major problems with Phytophthora infestans (late blight), as occurring in warm and moist weather conditions.
  - Thrips resistance in leek- Thrips is an annual recurring problem in organic and non-organic cultivation of leek. The damage is visible as silver-gray spots on the leaves.
  - Resistance to aphids in sweet pepper- Aphids can be a major problem in the cultivation of sweet peppers. They cause direct damage to the foliage, flowers and fruits.
  - Reducing damping-off in spinach- Spinach is an important ingredient of salads, especially the so-called 'babyleaf' salads. Spinach seedlings may die due to infections caused by pathogens such as Pythium. The death of the seedlings is called 'damping off', more specific post-emergence damping-off.
